DID NOT TAKE PLACE

BUT... THE NEXT REUNION ACTUALLY TOOK PLACE
FROM 2ND TO 4TH JUNE 2006
There has been a very serious fire in the main building at Stoke Rochford Hall

The alarm was raised by staff when they discovered the fire on Tuesday 25th January 2005 at 08:45am

The blaze, which predominantly affected the North Wing of the Hall, was fought by at least 100 firefighters and 10 fire engines from four local fire services

The fire, that is thought to have started in one of the upper floors, quickly spread to all three floors and also to the roof of the building

The level of destruction caused, was such that firefighters had to withdraw from the Hall, due to the danger from falling debris as the roof eventually collapsed
The full extent of the damage is not yet known, but it is clear that some of the areas that are extensively and severely affected include the Grand Hall, the Library and all floors above

Fortunately, nobody was injured during the incident and the consensus of opinion appears to be that there were no suspicious circumstances relating to the cause of the fire
Unsurprisingly, there has been quite a lot of press and media coverage of this event, both at a regional and national level. A number of recent and current links are provided here, to a selection of internet-based news items for your further information
